I’ve always found a freedom and escapism with art, and during my heady school days, both art and graphic design gave me a sense of calm to indulge in an area I loved. A kind of re-boot moment, where I was able to throw thoughts and ideas into the air and see where they landed, a sense of liberty. I was able to be a free spirit for just a moment.
Towards the end of 2019, and heading towards the start of my University career, life threw me a curveball a few days before I was due to start. Because of this, I decided to take a gap year, and I embraced this precious time to immerse myself in my passion, to heal and to grow.
This path led me to meet a special lady who became my mentor and with her encouragement, we spent many hours painting together. She was my warm embrace during those dark and foggy months, and the reason why I am writing this today. Through my art, I grew strength, courage and confidence.
Caroline’s chapter has sadly closed, however her legacy remains in every painting I produce.
